The baroque complex of the Franciscan church and monastery of Žilina was built in the 18th century on the outskirts of the city. The church was dedicated to Saint Barbara, a martyr who, according to legend, was imprisoned in a tower by her father - a great Christian opponent. At present, the church is administered by the Dominicans. This pretty little church has the particularity of housing a magnificent original 18th century organ.
