Opened in 2004, it is one of the youngest museums in Slovakia. It pays tribute to the work of the composer Ján Cikker (1911-1989) from Banská Bystrica. Through documents, it traces his life: his artistic studies, his famous opera compositions and his role as a professor at the Artistic Musical University. He has received numerous national and international awards. For example, he was awarded the UNESCO Music Prize in 1979 and the title of "National Artist".
