CITY GALLERY - MIRBACH PALACE

One of the jewels of Bratislava's rococo architecture. Built between 1768 and 1770 by a wealthy brewer of the city, this palace was passed from hand to hand to Count Mirbach, who bequeathed it to the city on the condition that a gallery be built there. It is worth a visit on its own for its monumental staircase or parquet floor, its multicoloured exotic woods, but above all its splendid 18th century engravings that adorn the walls of the palace.
