The splendid Reduta building built in 1911-1915 houses the Bratislava Philharmonic Orchestra, which performs there once a week. The other evenings, other bands, also of great quality, occupy the place to give great concerts. Founded in 1949 under the aegis of conductor Václav Talich (1883-1961), the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra has been housed in this magnificent baroque building since the 1950s.
