Completely immersed in the tufa, Naples is dotted with caves and cavities over an area of 614 000 m ². Underground work will be undertaken during antiquity and the Low Middle Ages to connect them to aqueducts linking the hill of Capodimonte and the neighbouring Vallée valley. Unfortunately, most of these cavities are obstructed because they are misused after the war as public landfills. However, some of them can be discovered during the visit of the underground Naples.
