LA FESTA DI PIEDIGROTTA

In early September, the city of Naples lives at the rhythm of a great feast both popular and religious, in honour of the Virgin of Piedigrotta. In the programme: " E appunto una festa di amore ", or of love in large quantities! Singing, dancing, devotion, jubilation, parade of floats… festivities of all kinds, starting on 7 or 8 September and extending throughout the week. The Neapolitan meet happily, without fear of noise and crowd. There are banquets and other fortune in the city and surrounding area. You can macaroni to macaroni with wines from Capri or Vesuvius. If the feast honours a cult the Madonna, she also celebrates the ancestral art of traditional Neapolitan song.
