A fine example of Gothic architecture, this fountain features a twelve-sided reservoir on a pedestal. Note that this is not a well or spring, but a reservoir. Indeed, Kutna Hora's water system was severely disrupted by the digging of the mining tunnels, and the town had no water by the Middle Ages. After construction, drinking water was transported to the town center and stored in the reservoir.
