The East has a special place in the Russian spirit and continues to influence culture and morals. This is not surprising, given that the country also extends into the Caucasus and Central Asia. This charming museum (ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ МУЗЕЙ ВОСТОКА) is therefore worth a visit. There are some very beautiful pieces in an old-fashioned scenography for a visit of about an hour. The collection of paintings by Rœrich (also exhibited at the Tretyakov) is well suited to the atmosphere of the place.
