In short, it's very folkloric, even kitsch, but it's worth the detour to try the Ukrainian version of borscht, stewed rabbit, or vareniki, a Ukrainian variant of pelmeni, filled with potatoes or red fruits.

Somewhat hidden at the end of the corridor on the top floor of the Goum, the famous canteen is not only a tasty and cheap place, but also a real time machine. As a main course, we recommend bouzy - ravioli stuffed with minced beef or lamb - also served as a soup - bantan soup - with a rich broth enhanced with pieces of beef and lamb.

Here you are in the heart of a veritable Ali Baba's cave, created by the cartoonist Andrei Biljo. Each of the dining rooms has its own atmosphere. A candy rose with old dolls and nostalgic dinners serves the tea room. The large room, where old transistors, improbable fountains and papier-mâché statuettes are piled up, is the dining room. In two rooms with wooden furniture, you will be offered good food, such as Satsivi (chicken breast with nut sauce) or khatchapouri. During the day the atmosphere is very family oriented. In the evening you will see an orchestra and folk dances that flirt with caricature. This is the only flaw of this address!

This restaurant has a large, airy room, and in the summer a terrace with wicker chairs in the patio of the restaurant. Before dinner you can play backgammon, chess, badminton or table tennis while the children have access to the slide, swing and even a hammock. Its chef, Iso Dzadaeva, says he only cooks according to his Georgian grandmother's recipes. As is often the case in the restaurants of the Ginza gastronomic group, the quality of the products is top-notch. In short, we live and eat well in Elardzhi!

Named "The Soviet Era", this cheburechnaya announces the colour, which is reflected in the tone of its decoration: posters delivering Lenin's messages, covers of old editions of Pravda on the wall or a logo featuring the sickle and hammer, the Soviet imagination is revived from the comfortable distance of today. In fact, this restaurant has been in existence since the fall of the Wall and since then its prices have been successfully aimed at the popular masses. Thus, it is less than 100 RUB for a shot of vodka with its pickle.

Fun atmosphere for lovers of healthy food and fusion, with a strong Asian inspiration. The menu offers a wide choice, including several vegetarian options, always welcome in Moscow. The dishes are good, fresh, and the open kitchen inspires confidence. Finally, the room is colorful and cosy, giving in to what is fashionable in the millenials nowadays. You are advised to try one of the delicious siphonful whole fruit teas offered by the restaurant. All in all, an imaginative place that will be good for both stomach and eyes.

The strength of this chain, which makes it one of the best in the capital, is a very good quality/price ratio: its cuisine, khachapuri, khinkali in mind, its staff helping out with tourists, its maps translated into English (with even gluten-free choices!) and a friendly setting. In short, it's a smart choice between two museum visits! We like the cheese khachapuri with an egg.
