Matlock Bath is a charming small village at the peak of the Peak District. Easy access by the A 6 and the A 610 between Nottingham and Manchester. Lord Byron, of passage here, talked about the town as an English Swiss, which earned him the nickname of «Little Switzerland». It extends along the Derwent River and at the foot of the Heights of Abraham, a high plateau that can be reached by funicular. This is the main local attraction. The tourist office is located in Matlock, a larger town with which it should not be confused. There is also a lot of information at the Peak District Museum.
