PENLEE HOUSE GALLERY

The site's reputation stems from its important collection of paintings from the "Newlyn School", an artistic movement that developed in the region in the ^19th century. Today, it houses a museum and art gallery. Temporary exhibitions are held on the first floor, and the museum is surrounded by Penlee Memorial Park. It also houses a department of archaeology, costumes and textiles, decorative arts and photography, all linked to the town. Temporary exhibitions are organized on a regular basis.
