Higuerote tourist Centre for its proximity, Higuerote has many hotel facilities and restaurants that contrast with the traditional and architectural simplicity of its centre. The city is not especially beautiful, its beach neither. By contrast you will find some splendid, pretty safe rooms with flat and small waves. The beaches are famous for the Guacuco, an exquisite shell that is easily harvested in the sand. A former homeland of cocoa - for more than three centuries - Higuerote inherited African slaves, joie de vivre and drums (tambores) that can be heard on his beaches and at the end of June at the San Juan festival. Attention, on the weekend, the corner is very frequented by the Caraqueños, ready to face 133 km of road and traffic congestion to crack under coconut trees, turn on white sand and rinse in crystal clear waters. Higuerote is located in the Barlovento sub-region in the state of Miranda. Barlovento refers to the winds winds sweeping the coast leading to rains that allow for lush vegetation all year round.
