THE PENINSULA

A relic of the colonial era in Hong Kong, the Peninsula stands in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Opened in 1928, the hotel became mythical since its inauguration by welcoming movie stars of the crazy years, Charlie Chaplin, among others. Travellers from the Kowloon-Canton train then took over to the provinces of central China or Europe via the Trans Siberian. At the end of the day, the first hotel in the east of Suez would float through all its lights, and the closest balls to its customers were landed.

The rooms of the original building are so steeped in history that you can easily imagine the atmosphere of the place at the dawn of the last century. It would hardly be surprising if we crossed the ghost of a celebrity or an adventurer who came to conquer the Far East! On the ground floor, lobby is one of the most Elegant places in Hong Kong, the meeting point for all the good Chinese society and… foreigners who don't have the pleasure of staying in the hotel. The décor, in ivory and gold tones, of the majestic corrugated colonnades under a high cap ceiling, is among the finest examples of English colonial architecture. Tea in the lobby is an ideal time to soak up the atmosphere.

To make you crazy, come to one of the nine Rolls Royce made available by the hotel and offer a room with a view of the harbour! All in stained glass, cream and mahogany tones with superb Chinese furniture and antiques, the suites have marble bathrooms where you will not lose a miette of the spectacle of Hong Kong. Don't miss the large outdoor swimming pool, decorated with statues and decorated with Roman. In short, the Peninsula is a real institution, not to mention the excellence of its service. We don't want to leave it anymore.
