More industrious, more Chinese, the Kowloon Peninsula differs in many points from the glittering Hong Kong Island. However, Tsim Sha Tsui found countless hotels in all categories, including luxury Penisula and intercontinental. It's also Nathan Road's side that you will find one of Hong Kong's Epinal images, these streets lined with endless flashing neons, boasting an electronic shop, fashion store or popular restaurant. Here more than anywhere else, we feel the electricity that travels Hong Kong and life seems to go on continuous circuit. Here, no hill slopes like on Hong Kong Island: an urban jungle goes beyond Boundary Street, to the New Kowloon. Since the closure of the former Kai Tak airport in the late 1990 s, buildings also gain height, like the ICC tower, the highest tower in the territory (484 m). Urban planning plans do not miss Kowloon's madness: the West Kowloon Cultural District is part of it, but lack of agreement among investors, the project has fallen considerably and has become the laughing stock of local media.
