COLONIAL MARKET
A magnificent modernist market, with a shopping mall, restaurants and terraces, in Valencia.
This beautiful Modernist market was built from 1914 by the Valencian architect Francisco Mora Berenguer, student of Domènech i Montaner at the school of architecture in Barcelona and assiduous of the workshop of Gaudí during his years of training. The building is sumptuous, with a forged iron structure and red brick façades adorned with trolleys, a technique dear to modernists consisting of assembling pieces of colored ceramics. After a restoration period in 2003, the Colón Market now houses a shopping gallery, various restaurants and many terraces of coffees on the ground floor of the building. Concerts are also regularly organized: consult the programming on the website.
