The largest market in the Vallès Oriental, the market of Granollers is a secular gathering mentioned since the 11th century. The journalist and writer Josep Pla rightly described it as "a great domestic symphony". Every Thursday the town centre is transformed into a gigantic fair where merchants compete with each other in vocal effects to attract the attention of passers-by to their stalls of clothes, local products and all kinds of objects. Every Saturday, a food market is also set up in the Plaça de la Corona (local and ecological products). Also in the centre of the town, you can go to the covered market in Sant Carles, Plaça de la Caserna, for fresh produce and the chance to eat on the go.
