The collegiate church, which houses one of the largest Gothic altarpieces in Catalonia, dominates the city like a true cathedral.

The origins of the basilica date back to the ninth century, with a first construction on the top of the Puigcardener. It reached its peak at the end of the 15th century, and since then various elements have been incorporated into it. In a room adjoining the basilica are preserved documents from more than three hundred parchments and documents from the eleventh century to the twentieth century. What remains today is a testimony to the history of the city, its glory and its difficulties.
