The largest and thickest park in Catalonia, perfect for picnicking and enjoying the sports facilities.
Covering an area of 40 hectares, it is the largest and thickest in Catalonia. Many of its plane trees were planted 150 years ago and stand over 60 metres tall (more than 2,500 in all). Legend has it that it was Napoleon himself, while attempting to take Girona, who decided to wait until the Catalan troops holed up in the fortified city ran out of food and finally surrendered, and had the plane trees planted to keep the sun off men and horses... A perfect spot for picnics and sports facilities.
