You reach this impressive monument by the 90 steps of the Pera stairs. The cathedral with its imposing single nave, whose construction took place over several centuries, is considered the most beautiful monument of Catalan Baroque architecture, mixing Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles. The altar is a superb baldachin with a 14th century silver altarpiece. The Romanesque cloister (11th-12th centuries) has a double row of columns. The ancient bell tower of the church, which dates back to the 11th century, is in the Lombard Romanesque style.
