Don't miss this easy walk along the sea front of Roses to the harbor boats
If you want to go from Roses to Cala Montjoi, the place where the famous El Bulli restaurant was located, you will have to spend about 3 hours there and the same for the return trip. But this will allow you to be in direct contact with the Natural Park of Cap de Creus. The first part of this route, which is about half of the way, follows the signs of the GR-92 to the platja de l'Almadrava. It is a very easy walk that follows the passeig maritim de Roses to the harbor boats, first for pleasure and then for fishing. Then you will see the lighthouse of Roses that marks the entrance to the port and the beginning of the walkway itself. Located at the point of La Poncella, it is a neo-Gothic structure built in 1864. Behind this lighthouse, you will notice the remains of the Trinitat castle. Continuing your journey, you will come across two beautiful rocky points, the Omella and Ullastret Punta. After passing these two points, you will reach the beach of La Almadrava. Be careful though. To continue the walk to Cala Montjoi, you will have to go through a much rougher terrain and sometimes without protection. This requires a lot of attention for this part of the tour. But in return for these efforts, you will be gratified, among other pleasures, by a beautiful view of the bay of Montjoi. Without forgetting to take a dip in one of the numerous creeks encountered along the way.
