The story of this opera begins in 1898 with the initiative of Lilian Baylis, who performs a series of opera recitals at the Old Vic Theatre. A few years later, Shakespeare's repertoire was added to the list. In 1918, the theater was renamed the Royal Ballet. Interruption during the Second World War, when the theater is requisitioned. The opera house became the English National Opera in 1974. Ambitious programming with shows from all over the world.
