THE London shoe, at least since the 1980s. This is where the military boot was born, with its praised sole and original design. It was the punks who first adopted these "docs", adding an alternative, rock'n'roll image that suited London perfectly. Docs then invaded the closets of an entire generation in the 1990s and 2000s. Although the trend has slowed somewhat, there are still many die-hard fans, particularly in London, who come here to stock up.
