In London, there are many parks, so it is very easy to do outdoor activities for free. In the huge Hampstead Heath park you can even swim in pools set up in the middle of the greenery. You can also go on organised free rollerblade rides around the city.
What's very local
The English are particularly sporty. You'll often see them running and jogging, especially along the banks of Regent's Canal, their favorite spot. But also in the city's great parks. Or take in a cricket match: a sport that couldn't be more British!
To be booked
If you want to attend a game of one of the capital’s many football teams in one of the iconic stadiums, run the London Marathon or take yourself for Audrey Hepburn at the Ascot races, you’ll need to book well in advance.
Main events
The famous Wimbledon tournament is held in early July. The FA CUP soccer final usually takes place in mid-May, and the Rugby Challenge Cup at the end of August.
