Luxury hotel in Notting Hill, a short walk from Portobello Road, offering a bar-restaurant and wellness area.

With its large red and golden curtains, this chic, bohemian hotel is in the spirit of Notting Hill. Located just steps from Portobello Road, it has both baroque and rock'n'roll rooms, as well as a large reception lounge, restaurant and bar open 24 hours a day. Guests of the hotel also have access to a Spa, with hammam, sauna, whirlpool and massage lounge. Finally, the garden hidden in the rear is particularly valuable during the fine days.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London in the winter. I checked in on Friday, January 19, and am still staying there.

The air conditioning in my room was broken, and the room temperature was 14 degrees Celsius (57 degrees Fahrenheit). When I called the front desk, they said that they had sent a heater, but a small heater in a 193 ft²/18 m² room is ridiculous. When I requested a room changing, They said that the room was full, but it makes no sense to assign us a room with a broken heater in the first place.

I was also disappointed with the lack of apology from the front desk. My mother and I were in London for her birthday, and we had spent the past seven days staying at Marriott-branded hotels. We wanted to end our trip with a special night at The Portobello Hotel, which is the setting for the movie Notting Hill. We are very disappointed that we had to spend our last night in London freezing.

I paid £233.45 for one night at this hotel. For that price, I could have stayed at the Hilton London Paddington or paid more to stay at a Marriott-branded hotel.

I urge anyone considering a stay at this hotel to read my review and reconsider

We booked this hotel for our 1st Wedding Anniversary, and my gosh it didn't disappoint. As soon as we walked in, we saw the hotel was beautifully decorated, and had an incredibly homely feel to it. Our room was simply beautiful and very quiet. Everything was perfect, including the exceptionally comfortable bed. We would 100% recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a hotel room for a special occasion.
