Really enjoyed this venue for its service and dining experience. Felt authentic railway hotel. Proximity to Kings X and St Pancreas makes it ideal for meeting up with family and friends.
Would recommend.

As always a great stay at the Great Northern Hotel. The hotel and rooms spotlessly cleans . The staff polite and attentive. The location and transportation links second to none . An ideal base for exploring London . A special mention to Marco Salamon the general manager whose prompt replies to emails and attention to detail enhanced the whole stay. This is our third stay here definitely will be back.

very pleasant experience for this first time stay in this (new to me) portion of London. if proximity to the King's Cross and St pancreas train stations is of import to you; then you can do no better than this location! while room size is only average by London standards, they make up for what they lack in square footage with heaps of charm - the historic railway theming is adorable. the biggest and most pleasant surprise is how quiet and goodnight sleep the rooms afford despite this bustling location.

Table service only, which tends to slow down the experience. Breakfast only served until 10.00am...would have liked avocado on toast with egg at 11.00 ....Good selection of drinks, right next to St Pancras and Kings Cross. Lovely outdoor seating area to smoke and watch the world go by whilst waiting for your train. Has an old time London feel to it. Toilets are down stairs so don't leave it until you are desperate !

I am in love with this hotel. I stayed here with 3 of my team members. The decor, the ambience, the service, the location. The whole building is so well designed and well thought out. I may steal some of their room design ideas for my own home renovations! The detail in space use is phenomenal. This hotel is quite understated luxury, all the good stuff without the fanfare — stealth wealth if you will. The staff service is calm, confident and professional with a personal touch. I have never stayed at a hotel that really put the customer at the forefront of their guest experience design as this one does. Beyond impressive.

Hotel and bar area completely unsafe lots of bag theft around the area .hotel not secure at all no security around.
Dirty mouse and rats ???? around the bar area while customer enjoy foods .
Staff are friendly .this hotel should close down and reconsider new opening as safety is bad

J'ai adoré très calme proche de la gare. Service à l'écoute une personne parlant en français et sur le traitement des petits problèmes rencontrés sur prises Usb présentes mais non fonctionnelles telecommande tv. Cadre magnifique, restaurant parfait. Métro et bus collés.

The rooms are very small.
The bed is not a king size bed. Probably not even queen size.
The climate control is out of order.
The bath room doors are with glass. Does not give any privacy.
The wardrobe is very small.
The TV is an old type.
The breakfast has compared with some years back deteriorated.

The room we had, upgraded, Is probably only for one person.

Even if pre booking amenities we had to order every day!

The price is unreasonable.

Such a great Hotel love the self serve kitchen in hallway. The room felt like a 6 star room. I was so impressed.

The rooms = ok, quite expensive for what they offer. It gets very dark.

Service is good. Nice people.

The location is very very good, especially if you're traveling for work and need to stay central close to Kings Cross ross.

I was almost scared off by some of the alarmist negative reviews, but I'm very glad I stayed here and I'll be coming back. The best part is the staff. They were great and Meherzad was particularly awesome. Also, fantastic location and very good rooms and amenities (the gym!). Just remember this is London so you're not going to get some giant room, but mine was more than adequate.

The wifi is terrible, very unusable. Could not make work calls over wifi or watch any videos. Called reception and they were nice but couldn't fix it. Other reviews have indicated the same. I was very surprised a 5 star hotel didn't have wifi that could support normal activities.

Other than that, common areas were very nice, hotel rooms a little small but okay. Several small issues with things like coffee machine having an unattached component, shower spraying in weird angles, shower door not closing tightly, etc

Of course, there are more elegant accommodations in London; however, The Great Northern Hotel should be a consideration if your travels take you to North London.
Adjacent to the bustling Kings Cross station, you may expect the hotel to have issues with noise/ it does not. In fact the rooms, though small, are super clean, tastefully appointed and comfortable. The bedding is crisp, high quality cotton, the shower water pressure is decent and the soaps, shampoos and lotions are wonderful! The customer service was good too.
The convenience factor cannot be understated here- literally steps away from the train/tube lines- wonderful.
