Ca' Macana is one of the most famous mask workshops. Its creators began to take an interest in this craft in 1984, shortly after the Carnival was revived. They were a group of friends, students of architecture at the University of Venice. They started (partly out of necessity but also out of simple passion) to create masks to sell in the squares or along the streets. The store and the workshop finally content us with all the path taken since, passing by the consecration on the big screen, thanks to the film Eyes Wide Shut.
