The bakery L'Epi d'Or, in the heart of Pont-l'Evêque, has built up such a reputation that it attracts most Parisians who come to the Pays d'Auge for a weekend or holiday. During the holidays and especially on weekends, you have to come very early in the morning to avoid seeing a line that runs in front of the other nearby stores. Not that the other bakeries are not good, on the contrary do not hesitate to test the Gana chopsticks and the very good Paris-Brest from Pains, Etc. The praline macaroon made with soaps remains their undeniable success, but they are constantly renewing their gourmet creativity: chocolate and pure alcohol, nougat almond pastes and a new box called "Pont-l'Evêque", which is presented as a box of cheese to share. More than forty kinds of chocolates to make and create personalised compositions in this small chewable address. Their passion is unfailing and their chocolates will melt the amateurs.

Not easy to find if you're not careful. La Fromagerie d'Annabelle is tucked away down the street. The store's window is as tempting as the cheese is good. Yum! The aroma of cheese immediately tells you that maturing is everywhere here! Annabelle, who works with her sister, fell in love with cream (fresh) and cheese (raw milk) during her apprenticeship with a leading Parisian cheesemaker and at the markets. She knows what she's talking about, and she's in love with it. Who'd have thought it? Her store is probably the first cheese shop in Pont-l'Evêque. What a feat! Cheese is like fruit: it has its seasons and can't be at its best at any time of year. That's why she makes her trays according to their origin and maturation. Each week has its own selection.
