Imposing building with magnificent Renaissance frescoes
This imposing building preserves magnificent Renaissance frescoes. It houses three museums. The Museo del Palazzo presents the artistic collections of the city (paintings, ceramics...). The Museo della Città (of the town) preserves pieces related to the history of Carpi: books, documentation concerning the agricultural and textile activity in Carpi. In the Museo del Deportato (Deportation Museum), you can see objects that belonged to the prisoners in the concentration camps. On the walls there are extracts from letters of resistance fighters condemned to death.

Gorgeous! To see absolutely if you're around. The journey from Bologna, Milan or Verona is quite easy to do. The palazzo is immense but contains beautiful frescoes. Many websites mention that the opening in the morning of the Palazzo is made on reservation only. That is not true. The opening is regular.
