Museum offering a visit tracing the production process of traditional balsamic vinegar.
Four short films are shown during the visit, two of which are in French. A fascinating guided tour of the slow and patient process of producing traditional balsamic. The tasting of 12 and 25 year old vinegars allows to appreciate the unique aromas. You can see batteries of barrels and some relics, such as a bottle found in Carpi and dated 1785: the vinegar, tested by a master taster, would still be suitable for consumption!

Il Museo del Balsamico Tradizionale or the Museum of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar is located in Spilamberto, a village between Modena and Bologna. It preserves the culture and history of traditional balsamic vinegar. This museum offers you an immersion in the world of balsamic vinegar, a journey through history and art, myths and local traditions. You can watch an introductory video (with French subtitles on request) on the history of Balsamic and its organoleptic properties, before immersing yourself in the scents of the vinegar as you walk through the many rooms of the museum.
