Former capital of the Duchy of Estensi from 1598 to 1859, it is a city on a human scale with a rather well-preserved historic center developed around via Emilia, where the city was located in Roman times. In the minds of all, it is associated with a prestigious automotive industry, with names such as Ferrari, Maserati or Lamborghini. A city of gastronomy, it is famous for its traditional balsamic vinegar and parmesan producers, but also for its lambrusco, a sparkling red wine. Finally, the heart of the city preserves a Romanesque cathedral whose sculpted decoration makes it an exceptional stone book.
