Church that preserves inside several works of art and the tomb of Bernabo Malaspina in Sarzana.
San Francesco church, now renovated, dates back to the 13thcentury . Its exterior is very minimalist, with a gabled facade. Above the portal is a 17th-century lunette depicting the Virgin and Child. Be sure to take a look inside. Among the works of art preserved inside are the tombs of Bernabò Malaspina (1338-1342) and Guarniero degli Antelminelli (1324-1328), both belonging to Sarzana's most influential families.
