BAR BESIO
Since 1860, this historic Savona address has been famous for its pastries and chinotti (a variety of candied citrus fruit) soaked in maraschino, a good traditional product to bring back in your suitcases, not to be confused with chinotto, a type of Italian cola. In between errands, stop in for an espresso at the counter, a slice of pistachio tart, a marron glacé, sugar-coated violets and other delicacies with unchanged flavours. And to complete the shopping experience, there's a selection of beautifully preserved chestnut cream and candied fruit.
