In the heart of the Caruggi, a stone's throw from the seafront, this café-pâtisserie has been run by the Ferro family since 1872. Elegant but unpretentious, its wood panelling and stained-glass windows still add a touch of cachet to the address. The morning cappuccino is a ritual here. Pastries include chifferi (dried almond cakes) and baci di Finale (two cookies joined by a layer of chocolate). Filled breakfast brioches are a favorite among regulars. Superb chocolate compositions at Christmas and Easter.
