Annie Moore Statue, a monument commemorating Irish immigration to the United States, to visit in Cobh.
Annie Moore and her two younger brothers Philipp and Anthony boarded a ship in Cobh harbor on December 20, 1891. Annie Moore was the first person to be admitted to the United States via the Ellis Island emigration center on January1 , 1892. She was 15 years old. This statue, dedicated to all emigrants, was unveiled in 1993. There is also a statue of Annie Moore on Ellis Island. After joining her parents, who had emigrated to New York two years earlier, Annie moved with her family to Texas, where she married and ran a farm.
