Authentic library, the oldest in Ireland, with a rich collection of books, liturgical works, bibles and more.

Built in 1701 by Archbishop Narcissus Marsh, Ireland's oldest library has retained its authenticity. It was designed by Sir William Robinson, the architect behind the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham. It contains approximately 25,000 books dating from the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries. These include liturgical works, missals, breviaries, bibles in all languages. But also books on medicine, law, science, etc. The library has been completely restored and has beautiful carved dark oak shelves.
