Bowe's is a beautiful old-fashioned pub, typically Irish, with its banquettes, rough wood and delightfully subdued lighting. Its location and small, tinted-paned windows make it a discreet, intimate place to take refuge during a long winter's evening in the capital. There's also the occasional nibble on offer, which doesn't spoil anything. A good time in prospect in an establishment that has been going strong since 1880, just a stone's throw from the famous Trinity College.
