Opened in 1823, the Palace Bar is one of Dublin's oldest pubs . In the 19th century, it was even the haunt of famous local and visiting writers. Its unique atmosphere and old-fashioned charm, with its superb woodwork, barrels and glass dome, give it a singular look that regulars love. As well as beers, you can sample a wide range of whiskeys, including hot whiskey. Renowned Irish music sessions are often held here on Thursdays. Beware, though, the place is often packed.
