Between Aungier and Camden Street, it is one of the unmissable events of Dublin nights. Whelan's has built up quite a reputation thanks to the talented bands and singers who perform within its walls. On several floors, it offers a varied international programme every night - rock, folk, soul, jazz -, free or paying concerts (there are some in different halls). Entre le pub et la salle de concert, le whelan's est un véritable découvreur de talent. Si vous devez vous rendre à Dublin, vérifiez la programmation sur leur site internet et allez y passez une excellente soirée. Ps: une grande majorité des concerts sont gratuits.

Curieusement, car c'est tout près du centre (à 10 mn à pied de St Stephen's green), le lieu est assez peu fréquenté par les touristes. C'est pourtant "the place to be" si vous aimez la musique irlandaise. Comme dans de nombreux pubs, c'est biscornu avec 5 ou six salles de taille très différente. l'ambiance y est toujours chaleureuse et la musique de qualité bien que gratuite. Quelques concerts payants dans la plus grande des salles.
