This impressive sailing ship - the largest in the world to sail the oceans - is a replica of the Swedish East India Company ship which, in 1745, sank in the port of Gothenburg on its return from China, carrying large quantities of tea, porcelain and silver. Begun in 1992 and completed in 2005, building this replica was a real challenge, as there are no plans of the original ship. To remain faithful to the original, no modern tools or techniques were used. A guaranteed change of scenery!
