Gothenburg, unlike Stockholm, is a rather hot city, where the still perennials, still alive, have undoubtedly helped to forge relatively atypical local character which makes people rarely indifferent, and easily familiar. The presence of students, distributed in the various faculties of the city, and the dense network of trams in the retro look and as fluid as liners add to the vitality of this western capital. Nowadays, it is in the west of the Haga district, on the heights, that popular neighbourhoods are concentrated. Grey buildings with no charm are agrippent to the large granite rocks. However, some wonderful observation sites allow the city to be surplomber, including the former Skansen Kronan defence Tower and the remarkable Masthugg church, both located in the south-east of the city. In addition to the innumerable cranes of the shipyards and the port, there are wooded hills in the east and, in the centre, red, green and orange roofs of buildings which are curiously intertwined in each other, while ochre facades give the metropolis an almost southern aspect. City of events, Gothenburg has efficient and central infrastructures that allow for global sports competitions, political conferences and large shows. It is a city in motion, suitable for nightlife and shopping, as well as for visits to many of the country's most famous museums. Gothenburg is also a key city for Sweden's export trade, as it is also the country's first port. For its part, the Volvo based Company, based in Hisingen, continues to produce thousands of vehicles each year, and tourism, which is constantly growing, is an important economic resource. Finally, Gothenburg is the seat of many Swedish design companies like Nudie Jeans, Laces or Stylein, which gives the city a truly trendy image.
