This museum illustrates the evolution of ships and navigation from the th century to the present. The aquarium has many varieties of fish and aquatic animals.

The cylindrical tower dominating the building is decorated with a sculpture of a woman who represents the husband's expectation for months of navigation. The neglected wife, however, hardly looks to the wide range where the desired man should return, but to Hisingen. Legend tells that she had a lover on this island, which she liked more than her husband…
