VASA CHURCH
The church of Vasa, situated a little in height in a small park, has undergone a turbulent construction. The parish of Vasa was created while the neighborhood had 23 700 souls. Construction began in 1905, according to the plans of architect Y. Rasmussen, in a néoroman style. The church, built in raw and polished granite, could accommodate 1 500 faithful (seated). The cost of the book was 450 000 crowns at the time. A fortune! The bell was completed in the summer of 1908. Two bells, one of 1 800 kg, the other of 900 kg, were delivered in September. In 1909, the church was consecrated by Bishop Rodhe in the presence of the Popes, an event crowned by a great feast throughout the city. In 1949, the bell's green copper cover was restored, the lights were replaced and the organ gallery was redesigned. In 1974, a side chapel was inaugurated, which can accommodate approximately 70 people.
