Rather well preserved, the ruins of these two churches built in the th century dominate the lake. They are the memory of Sigtuna, and are among the first stone buildings erected in the Mälaren Lake area. By all seasons, under the snow or under the spring sun, the rough stones and vaults have a typical charm and recall the ferveur of the Nordic peoples, freshly christianized, to honor God.

Nous sommes allés à Sigtuna en hivers. La ville était recouverte par la neige, comme c'est souvent le cas au sortir de Stockholm. En passant sous les ruines du monastère, le monde disparait soudain, le vent s'arrête, le silence s'installe, seul le crépitement de la neige nous parvient. Un souvenir magique.
Le centre ville propose café et restaurant très sympa pour une balade en dehors de la capitale.
