A unique museum that takes you on a journey back in time, through the history of the Scandinavian people and the famous Vikings!

Make the most of your stay and get to know the Scandinavian people and the Vikings, who left their mark on Europe over a thousand years ago and are still famous the world over today. History has shaped the image of the Vikings, giving them the stereotypical reputation of brutal, adventurous conquerors, but this is only a subjective reality. In fact, not all Scandinavians were Vikings, a term reserved for those who were warriors or who embarked on expeditions and raids at sea. The Scandinavians were also a sedentary people, working the land, feeding their children and distinguishing themselves by their innovation in the craft techniques of textile manufacture and wood carving. The Viking Museum will take you to the heart of Norse life, where you'll discover the daily lives of men, women and children in Viking times. In the course of the exhibition, you'll meet an individual unique in the world: a life-size mannequin replicated from DNA found on the skeleton of a 10th-century Scandinavian. The copy is extremely accurate, with almost 99% of its physical characteristics identical to those of the real model! But the highlight of the museum is the "Ragnfrids Saga" attraction. Climb aboard the train and take part in the exciting adventure of a group of Vikings in search of money, as they embark on a dramatic journey through 10th-century Europe. This attraction is available in 10 languages and is recommended for ages 7 and up. The museum has been designed to be fun and interactive; the whole family will be captivated by the entertaining and instructive history of Scandinavia's inhabitants, whether farmers, merchants or Vikings. Skilled guides in Viking garb offer guided tours in English and Swedish. However, you can also book a private tour in French or explore the museum on your own with the audioguide. For children, the museum offers activities in several languages, including French, every day. Don't forget to stop by the museum store, which offers unique, high-quality handicrafts, classic souvenirs and children's items. An address not to be missed, the Viking Museum is a constantly evolving museum that offers a dialogue between myth and fact.

Bon travail !
