At the time of Gustav III, this theater was a cultural high place of the aristocracy of the country. Afterwards, it fell into oblivion. It was rediscovered in 1921, like Sleeping Beauty waking up after 100 years of sleep! The hall serves as a museum (sets and theater machinery from the late seventeenth century) and during the summer months, in this beautiful space, are given opera performances, ballets and chamber music concerts.
