The Merville Battery, where you can understand how an artillery battery works, is a museum unlike any other.
The site of the German Merville Battery and its educational trail provides an insight into the workings of an artillery battery, its position in the Atlantic Wall and the daily lives of the soldiers stationed there. Rommel took a particular interest in this battery, which was responsible for defending the Orne estuary against an Allied incursion into the hinterland, up the river as far as Caen. For 10 km, the beaches to the west of Ouistreham were held under its fire. At the entrance, don’t miss the authentic Douglas C-47.

Opening time and information on MERVILLE BATTERY
Famille Plus. Normandie Qualité Tourisme. From mid-March to September, open daily from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. October to mid-November, daily from 10am to 6:30pm (last admission at 5pm). Open for groups out of season, by prior arrangement. Visits last about 1h30. Free for children under 7. Adults: €9.50. Children (aged 8 to 15): €6 (free for 3rd and subsequent children). Group (20 people): €7.50. Reduced rate: €7. Vacation vouchers. Gift store. Free parking. Dogs welcome.

Extérieur gazonné autour des bunkers très bien entretenu
La visite est faite sur un parcours numéroté et on peut regarder dans un bunker une vidéo - (un plan nous est donné à l'accueil)
