Ruteng is a small town set in a landscape of hills and rice paddies. In the distance, white church steeples emanate vigorous chants imbued with a benevolent mystical impulse.The town's old buildings are made of wood, but concrete is fast approaching and Ruteng is gradually becoming uglier. In the middle of the city lies a "Champ de Mars". The trees that once surrounded it have been felled. This noble space remains dominated by an immaculate church, a beautiful church always full of fervent believers. A blessing for the priests who come here to seek and find fervent believers they can no longer find elsewhere.
