Magnificent, incredible, there are no superlatives strong enough to describe the largest aquarium in the Middle East! Jellyfish, snakes and hundreds of sharks... Get your camera ready, because the National Aquarium opened its doors at the end of 2021, and it's amazing. With over 46,000 creatures, this attraction is located in Al Qana in Abu Dhabi. It's an impressive aquarium; it contains over 200 sharks and rays.
Wondering what you'll find? Enter the largest tunnel in the Middle East and you'll find yourself surrounded by divers and over 22,000 animals. In the water, if you wish to dive, or out of it, you'll be blown away by all the incredible things there are to see, from rainforest habitat to coral reef. This is the only place in the Middle East where you can see both hammerhead and bull sharks. You can also see tiger sharks, blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, cow-nosed rays and more. You can also watch feeding demonstrations and even hand-feed sharks up to two meters long.
A partnership with the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency enables hundreds of injured turtles to be rescued and returned to their natural habitat once they have been nursed back to health. Marine wildlife and environmental education activities are also offered. Young and old alike will marvel at this wonderful new place.
