WEST BEACH (VESTERSTRAND)

A beautiful sandy beach. You can also swim at the foot of the (small) cliffs of Voderup, on the west coast. In this case, you should bring swimming shoes. The further north-west you go, towards Søby, and beyond the Skjoldnæs lighthouse, the more the landscape changes. The well-ordered fields are followed by wild grass, heather, sand, stones and more or less abandoned mills. The water here is a few degrees colder than on the rest of the Ærø coastline.
