ISLAND OF THURØ

Its inhabitants were freed from the domination of the lords of the manor only at the beginning of the ^19th century. Now Thurø is no longer a private island: it is accessed by a bridge. Still agricultural, it offers beautiful beaches, especially at the southeastern tip in the direction of Thurø Rev. After a large parking lot, walk through the pine forest and the purple heather moor, before arriving on a very fine sand. The water is particularly clear, the horizon infinite, which is not frequent in this region of islands and fjords where the eye often comes up against the cliffs.
